No pet should ever know the heartbreak of being betrayed by the humans they love the most. Although dogs crave love with their whole hearts, many experience the pain of rejection. Avery, a sweet pooch, thought her owners loved her until they abandoned her at a market. Feeling lonely and confused, she hoped they would return and take her back into their arms. Enduring hunger, Avery begged passers-by for compassion, but people refused to help and hurt her even more. Losing faith in humans, she didn’t think she could count on anyone. Then, a kind-hearted rescuer learned about Avery’s hardships and was determined to help her.
When the rescuer arrived, Avery didn’t trust her and began running away. The rescuer, saddened by the dog’s state, saw Avery’s severely matted fur and dirty clumps hiding her eyes. After running for an hour on a hot day, Avery collapsed near a fence, suffering from heatstroke.
The rescuer sat on the ground and approached Avery slowly, hoping to win her trust.
Feeling Safe in Her Rescuer’s Arms
The kind woman hugged Avery, consoling her and making her feel loved. It was Avery’s first hug in a long time, and she sensed the rescuer was a good human. Feeling safe, Avery let the rescuer carry her to the car. The rescuer noticed how thin Avery was and, once in the car, Avery began feeling better.
The rescuers took Avery to the vet, where eight pounds of matted fur were removed from her skinny body. For the first time, the rescuers could see her sweet eyes. After a soothing bath, Avery felt even better.
Malnourished, she was put on a special diet to gain weight. Luckily, Avery was in good health and was discharged from the clinic the next day.
The Healing Power of Love
Avery moved to a shelter where her caregivers showered her with love. Thanks to their affection and care, Avery thrived. Each passing day made her more beautiful, and her eyes radiated happiness. Her caregivers were in awe of her transformation. From a sorrowful, neglected pup who lost trust in humans, Avery turned into a delightful dog with a lot of love to give.
Realizing Avery was ready for a permanent home, her rescuers began looking for a family. Avery stole the heart of a great family who decided to adopt her and make her the happiest pup. Over the moon, Avery finally had humans who adored her. After all her suffering, Avery found her happily ever after.
